Foster Wheeler has received a contract from Apache Khalda Corp. to provide project management consultancy (PMC) services to oversee the front-end engineering design (FEED) for the Qasr compression project in Egypt.
Siemens JV opens compressor plant in Russia
The RusTurboMash joint venture of Siemens Energy and Iskra-Avigaz has opened a new compressor manufacturing plant in the Russian city of Perm. Siemens holds a 51% stake in the joint venture and Iskra-Avigaz the rest. The combined investment of the two companies is €60 million.
GE inks over $800m in Brazil turbine supply deals
GE said it has secured more than $800 million in commitments to supply wind and gas turbines for projects in Brazil that will produce 1.4 gigawatts of electricity – 40% of the total amount awarded in energy auctions conducted recently by Brazil’s National Electric Power Agency.
GE to supply compressors for Shell Australia FLNG
GE Oil & Gas has entered into an agreement with Technip to supply two steam turbine-driven compressors for the Shell Prelude floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) project. The facility, which is to be based offshore Australia, will be the largest floating offshore facility in the world.
Sulzer opens first Russia pumps service center
Sulzer Pumps will soon open its first service center in Russia. Located in Khimki, Moscow, the new service center will provide repair and retrofit service for industrial pumping systems for Russian customers, the company said.

Tyco inks supply deal with Shell for butterfly valves
The flow control unit of Tyco International has been selected by Shell to provide butterfly valves for the company’s global operations. The five-year agreement covers more than 2,500 of Tyco's Vanessa, Winn, NeoTecha and Sapag brand highly engineered butterfly valves, for use in projects, maintenance repair operations and turnaround applications, the company said.
Siemens completes wind turbine project in Iowa
Siemens Energy, Mortenson Construction, and MidAmerican Energy Company have completed the expansion of MidAmerican Energy's wind project near Pomeroy, Iowa. Thirteen Siemens wind turbines were erected at the site, creating an additional 29.9 megawatts of generation capacity.
