Braskem-Idesa picks GE compressor technology in Mexico ethylene, PE venture
The Veracruz ethylene and polyethylene (PE) complex in Mexico, a joint venture between Brazil’s Braskem and Mexico’s Grupo Idesa, will use hyper compressor and booster compressor technologies from GE. The GE technologies will be key elements of the low-density polyethylene (LPDE) plant.

Williams investigates fire, resulting damage at US gas compressor station
Williams Partners is assessing damage at its Lathrop natural gas compressor station in Susquehanna County, Pa., following a Thursday morning fire at the facility. All employees and contractors at the facility were accounted for and there were no injuries. The cause of the fire is unknown.
Tyco to merge flow control business with Pentair
Tyco International struck a deal with Pentair to merge the maker of water treatment and storage systems with its pipes and valves unit, valuing the business at roughly $4.5 billion.
