Jacobs to study Saudi Ma'aden phosphate project
Jacobs was awarded a contract by Saudi Arabian Mining Company to provide a bankable feasibility study and front-end engineering design (FEED) for its Umm Wu'al phosphate project in the Sirhan-Turaif region of Saudi Arabia. The project will add 1.5 million tpy to Ma'aden's planned phosphate capacity.
Shell awards Jacobs mechanical maintenance deal for Canada operations
Jacobs Engineering Group said it received a five-year contract from Shell to provide main mechanical maintenance services to its Canadian operations. Under the terms of the deal, Jacobs is performing mechanical maintenance, including small capital project construction and turnaround activities.
Technip to buy Shaw energy, chemicals business
Shaw is selling the segment to Technip for $300 million in cash, adding that further collaborations between the two companies are possible for Shaw’s core business units. The companies further agreed to work toward developing future business relationships involving Shaw’s core business units.
Willbros wins construction work in Louisiana for Praxair hydrogen pipeline
Willbros Group was awarded a contract by Praxair to construct 52 miles of 12-inch pipeline in Louisiana. Construction on the project is underway and is scheduled to be completed in September.
RINA to project manage FLNG terminal in Indonesia
RINA Group will deliver concept selection, FEED, support during negotiations with potential shipyards, project management during construction, and support for commissioning for a new floating LNG terminal in South Sumatra, Indonesia. The terminal is expected to come into service in mid-2014.
Fluor finishes China polysilicon plant for LDK Solar
Fluor Corp. has completed construction for LDK Solar’s polysilicon plant in Xinyu City, China, one of the largest such production facility in the world. Fluor said it continues to provide debottlenecking services at the plant and is implementing new technologies to increase production.
Foster Wheeler inks engineering pact with Shell for Asia downstream projects
Foster Wheeler has signed an enterprise framework agreement (EFA) with Shell Global Solutions International in Asia. Work will be released under individual work orders, and Foster Wheeler will record bookings as work orders are received. The agreement is for a five-year period.
Evonik selects Jacobs for engineering work on new polyamide 12 plant in Asia
Jacobs Engineering Group was awarded a contract from Germany's Evonik to provide basic engineering services for a grassroots polyamide 12 production facility in Asia. Jacobs says it has been working closely with Evonik's project team in to develop the conceptual design for the new plant.
KBR wins construction deal for Canada shale gas processing project
KBR on Friday was awarded a general works contract for the construction of a 200 million standard cubic feet/day (SCFD) sweet natural gas processing plant near Fort St. John in Canada's British Columbia province. The project is aimed at monetizing recent shale gas discoveries.
Reliance taps Fluor for project management in India on downstream expansions
Reliance Industries has selected Fluor to perform project management services for projects being executed at its world-scale Jamnagar refining and petrochemical complex on the west coast of India in Gujarat. The proposed coke gasification facility is among the largest-such projects ever built.
