Woodside to study Shell floating LNG technology
In a statement, Woodside CEO Peter Coleman said he now agreed that floating LNG could be the quickest way to develop Browse, which contains an estimated 15.5 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. Shell says its floating LNG technology is the fastest and most economic way to develop Browse.
Air Products to supply LNG heat exchangers for Maryland liquefaction plant
Air Products will supply its LNG proprietary C3MR liquefaction technology and equipment to a joint venture of IHI E&C International and Kiewit. It will be installed at Dominion's major liquefaction project, to be constructed at the site of Dominion's existing Cove Point LNG import terminal in Maryland.

Early indications were that a spark ignited residual gasoline vapors while a crew was cleaning the barges, said Lt. Mike Clausen of the US Coast Guard, which was still conducting an investigation late Thursday. "That's where the investigation is currently leading," he said.

Woodside Petroleum CEO Peter Coleman doesn't see any major softening in LNG demand as buyers anticipate future supply increases from North America and East Africa. Demand for LNG is "very strong, particularly for spot cargoes and we expect that demand to maintain strength [in coming years]," he said.

Gazprom, the world's largest extractor of natural gas, plans to lift sales to Asia to help offset a drop in demand and regulatory troubles in its most lucrative market, Europe. It is planning to build a gas liquefaction plant in Vladivostok on Russia's Pacific coast. Potential financial terms weren't disclosed.
Crosstex to build Louisiana NGL fractionation unit, picks UOP technology
Under the deal, UOP will build and install the UOP Russell fractionation equipment that is designed to extract ethane and propane -- highly in demand as petrochemical feedstocks for producing ethylene and propylene, two building blocks for plastics -- from mixed natural gas liquids (NGL) streams.
Praxair to supply planned NWR refinery in Alberta with new air separation unit
The North West Redwater refinery is scheduled to start up in 2016. The NWR gasification process will consume oxygen to produce hydrogen, which is used to upgrade bitumen into diesel and other higher value hydrocarbon products. Initially, the refinery will convert 50,000 bpd of bitumen.
