TransCanada gauges interest in Alaska LNG project
TransCanada's project was initially planned as an over-land pipeline to ship North Slope gas to the continental US by 2020. But the glut of natural gas from shale basins in the US has led Alaska Governor Sean Parnell to voice support for an alternative plan to super-cool the gas and ship it overseas to Asia.
Air Products to raise LNG heat exchanger capacity with new Florida plant
The new 300,000 square foot LNG manufacturing facility, which will employ approximately 250 employees in a four year ramp-up period, is to be complete and begin operations in late 2013. Air Products says the location's access to port services will facilitate global shipping of the equipment.

Linde starts China gas plant to serve Pu Yang Steel
The new plant will run seven air separation units with an overall capacity of 63,000 Nm3/hour of oxygen provided to Pu Yang Steel, the largest steel company in the Wu’an region. Pu Yang becomes the first steel company to choose to outsource their gas supply to a professional industrial gas provider.
Petronas picks Air Products equipment, technology for Malaysia FLNG unit
Air Products claims the AP-N LNG process is the most efficient of all nitrogen-recycle LNG processes in the industry, and is ideally suited for small-scale FLNG applications. This is the initial use of the AP-N LNG process and equipment. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Jacobs to supply gas heat exchangers for INEOS UK sulfuric acid plant
INEOS selected Jacobs' proprietary Chemetics radial flow gas-gas heat exchanger design over other available designs, citing the “most appropriate design and technical solution” for its plant. The equipment is expected to be fabricated at Jacobs' facility in Pickering, Ontario.
Aker Solutions to supply MEG reclamation plant for Australia LNG project
The scope of work includes system engineering and supply of key equipment for the MEG plant and may include some further options. MEG is used to prevent hydrate formation in subsea pipelines.
Statoil shuts Norway LNG plant after water leak
Statoil said production at the plant - the world's most northern and Europe's first LNG export facility - was halted after water leaked into gas dryers, with water ingression causing ice formation in the cooling circuit.
