Japan's Eneos restarts 145,000-bpd Sendai CDU; Marifu unit set for mid-May restart
Eneos Corp, Japan's biggest refiner, restarted the 145,000-bpd crude distillation unit (CDU) at its Sendai refinery on April 25 following an unplanned shutdown that began on April 16, a company spokesperson said on Tuesday.
The refiner, a unit of Eneos Holdings, declined to disclose the cause of the shutdown.
Eneos also plans to restart the 128,000-bpd CDU at its Marifu refinery in western Japan in mid-May, the spokesperson said. The unit has been undergoing scheduled maintenance since January 19.
Separately, a spokesperson from Idemitsu Kosan said the 60,000-bpd CDU at the Keihin refinery, operated by subsidiary Toa Oil, has been offline for planned maintenance since March 22.
The spokesperson added that the Keihin refinery's processing capacity was reduced to 60,000 bpd from 70,000 bpd, effective April 1.
