Sadara brings Kingdom’s first polyols plant on-stream
JUBAIL, Saudi Arabia — Sadara Chemical Company, the largest chemical complex ever built in a single phase, has successfully started up the Kingdom’s first Polyols plant. This manufacturing facility produces specialty chemicals that go into the production of polyurethanes and specialty foams.
Grace licenses process technology to Canada Kuwait Petrochemical
COLUMBIA, Md. — W. R. Grace & Co., a supplier of polyolefin catalyst technology and polypropylene (PP) process technology, has contracted to license its UNIPOL PP Process Technology to Canada Kuwait Petrochemical Corporation (CKPC), a 50/50 JV between Pembina Pipeline Corporation of Canada and Petrochemical Industries Company K.S.C. of Kuwait.
Wison Engineering awarded EPFC contract from Formosa Plastics
SHANGHAI — Wison Engineering Services Co. MOL Group partners with Evonik, thyssenkrupp for Polyol Project
BUDAPEST — Half a year after the announcement of the 2030 strategy, MOL Group has reached an important milestone in its industrial transformational journey. The license agreements signed with Evonik and thyssenkrupp, will enable MOL to produce propylene oxide, a key component for the production of polyether polyols. MOL intends to become a significant producer of polyether polyols, high-value intermediates for products applied in the automotive, packaging and furniture industries.
SCG to proceed with Vietnam petchem project investment
Vina SCG Chemicals Co., Ltd. (VSCG), wholly-owned subsidiary by SCG, has approved to proceed with the investment of the Long Son Petrochemicals Company Limited (LSP). LSP issued the Letter of Award to key contractors on July 14 and the final contract signing is expected to be in the second half of 2017. The estimated 4.5-yr construction of the complex is managed under the consolidated turnkey lump sum project format, with commercial operation expected by the first half of 2022.
