Wood selected as project management consultancy for first major methanol plant in the UAE
Wood has secured a contract from TA’ZIZ to provide project management consultancy (PMC) for the development of the UAE’s first methanol production facility in Al Ruwais Industrial City, Abu Dhabi.

The Kassø eMethanol facility in Aabenraa, Denmark, has been officially inaugurated and is now supplying eMethanol to offtakers. Developed by European Energy and operated in collaboration with Mitsui & Co., the facility is owned by Solar Park Kassø ApS under Kassø MidCo ApS, with European Energy A/S holding a 51% stake and Mitsui & Co. 49%.

Energy company Mabanaft and HIF Global have signed a Heads of Agreement (HoA) for the planned offtake of e-methanol, reinforcing their commitment to advancing carbon-reducing fuels for the shipping industry. The initial offtake would be of up to 100,000 tpy of e-methanol produced from renewable electricity and captured CO₂.
