US crude inventories fall, products build as refining jumps
(Reuters) -- US crude oil inventories fell sharply and stockpiles of gasoline and distillates jumped last week as refineries hiked production rates to the highest since November 2015, the Energy Information Administration said on Wednesday.

Utah establishes gasoline and diesel refinery exemption
DALLAS -- Utah Governor Gary Herbert signed Senate Bill 197—effective Jan. 1, 2018—establishing an exemption for the purchase or lease of machinery, equipment, normal operating repair or replacement parts, catalysts, chemicals, reagents, solutions or supplies used or consumed by a refiner who owns, leases, operates, controls or supervises a refinery used to produce gasoline or diesel fuel.
EIA: US retail gasoline prices this summer expected slightly higher than 2016
Drivers in the US will pay an average of $2.46 per gal this summer for regular gasoline, according to forecasts in EIA’s Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO). Gasoline prices from April through September are expected to be 23 cents/gal higher than the average price last summer, but this price is still nearly 70 cents/gal below the previous five-year average. The gasoline price increase this summer primarily reflects slightly higher forecast crude oil prices.
