DOHA, Qatar -- Qatargas announced the commercial start-up of Laffan Refinery 2, marking an expansion of refining capacity in the State of Qatar. The project will refine 146,000 bpd of condensate from the North Field, the largest non-associated natural gas reserve in the world.

Polish regulator approves PGNiG gas price hike for Q1 2017
WARSAW (Reuters) -- Poland's biggest gas firm PGNiG will increase the price of high-methane gas it sells by 12.2% and the price of nitrogen-rich gas by 13.4% from the start of next year, the company said, citing an approval from energy regulator URE.

Cheniere Energy, Inc. ends negotiations to acquire Cheniere Energy Partners LP Holdings, LLC
HOUSTON -- Cheniere Energy, Inc. announced today that it has terminated negotiations with the conflicts committee of the board of directors of Cheniere Energy Partners LP Holdings, LLC regarding Cheniere's previously announced non-binding proposal to acquire all of the publicly held shares of Cheniere Partners Holdings not already owned by Cheniere in a stock-for-stock merger transaction.
Industry Perspectives: New downstream project announcements drop 35% in 2016
According to <i>Hydrocarbon Processing’s</i> Construction Boxscore Database, nearly 470 new projects have been announced in the downstream hydrocarbon processing industry over the past two years. New project announcements have fallen from 285 in 2015 to 185 in 2016. This trend analysis represents a year-over-year decrease of approximately 35%.
