Cleanfield researching a renewable energy driven heat engine
Cleanfield Alternative Energy Inc. has entered into a research collaboration agreement with the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) and the Ontario Centers of Excellence (OCE) to develop a novel renewable energy based power generation system running a new trilateral cycle. The research project will involve: developing conceptual designs, analyzing thermodynamic performance aspects and costs, building and testing a prototype system, optimizing and improving for real-scale applications for power production purposes, and commercialization by Cleanfield.

Curtiss-Wright Corp. has received an order from Petrobras for 12 top and bottom DeltaGuard fully-automated coke drum unheading systems. The units are expected to be delivered to the Petrobras Abreu e Lima refinery located in Pernambuco, Brazil.

AMIN subsidiary International American Refineries, Inc., has acquired all outstanding shares of Norcorom Industries. Norcorom owns a refinery in Ingleside, Texas, with a capacity of 40,000 bpd.
REFICAR selects Merichem technologies for treatment of LPG and jet fuel
Refineria de Cartagena S. A. (REFICAR) has selected Merichem Co. to provide multiple technologies for treatment of hydrocarbons and spent caustic at its refinery in Cartagena, Colombia. Merichem will license its technologies and supply modular equipment to treat coker LPG and saturated LPG at the facility
