Dow completes construction of ethylene production site in Texas

FREEPORT, Texas – The Dow Chemical Company announced the completion of the construction phase of its new ethylene production facility in Freeport, Texas. The Company reached this milestone within one week of the originally planned date, which was set approximately two years ago. Dow’s ethylene unit is now progressing through the commissioning phase, with start-up expected by mid-year.

In 2016, US crude oil exports averaged 520,000 bpd, 55,000 bpd (12%) above the 2015 level, despite a year-over-year decline in domestic crude oil production.
