EPA awards $1-MM grant for petroleum contamination in Mississippi
ATLANTA – The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded a $1,094,000 grant to the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) to assist the state in cleaning up petroleum contamination from leaking underground storage tanks throughout the state.
US thirst for European gasoline stalls, casting shadow on demand

US ethanol production capacity continues to increase
Fuel ethanol production capacity in the United States reached 15.5 Bgal/yr, or 1.01 MMbpd, at the beginning of 2017, according to EIA's most recent US Fuel Ethanol Plant Production Capacity report. Total capacity of operable ethanol plants increased by about 4%—or by more than 600 MMgal/yr—between January 2016 and January 2017.
CB&I announces multi-technology award in Uzbekistan
THE WOODLANDS, Texas — CB&I announced it has been awarded a technology contract by Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex LLC (SGCC) for a grassroots ethylene complex to be built in southern Uzbekistan. The scope of work includes the license and basic engineering of an ethylene unit, which will use four proprietary SRT heaters, a Hexene-1 unit and a polypropylene unit.
Shell signs biofuel technology agreement with SBI BioEnergy Inc.
CALGARY — Royal Dutch Shell plc, through its subsidiary Shell International Exploration and Production B.V., and SBI BioEnergy Inc. have reached an agreement granting Shell exclusive development and licensing rights for SBI's biofuel technology.
Metso signs distribution agreement with Process Control Equipment
Metso has signed a distribution agreement for its valve products with Process Control Equipment (PCE) to cover UK, Benelux and Spain. Under the non-exclusive agreement, PCE will add to its current portfolio of Metso's Neles and Jamesbury product families for all process industries in all countries. PCE has been distributing Metso's Jamesbury valves in the UK since 2012.
Watchdog group sues EPA to access communications with Icahn

EIA: US exports of crude oil, petroleum products more than doubled since 2010
US crude oil and petroleum product gross exports have more than doubled over the past 6 yr, increasing from 2.4 MMbpd in 2010 to 5.2 MMbpd in 2016. Exports of distillate, gasoline, propane and crude oil have all increased, but at different paces and for different reasons.
