The autonomous future: HxGN LIVE Global 2022 kicks off in Las Vegas
On Monday, Hexagon, which puts data to work to enable autonomous, connected systems that boost efficiency, productivity and quality, welcomed customers and industry partners to its HxGN LIVE Global 2022 at the Venetian in Las Vegas, June 20-23.
HxGN LIVE Global is Hexagon’s digital reality solutions conference, bringing together visionaries from around the world to discuss, debate and experience the autonomous future. It is the flagship global conference for HxGN LIVE, Hexagon’s digital reality solutions event series, which provides hands-on access to the latest sensor, software and autonomous technologies across industrial, manufacturing, infrastructure, the public sector and mobility applications.
Summits and technical sessions explore a broad range of key industry subjects, including: the future of manufacturing; digital industrial facilities; autonomy and positioning reality; connected cities and services; and digital innovation in construction.
Hexagon President and CEO, Ola Rollén, kicked off the hybrid in-person and virtual event with pointed comments, saying, “We are moving from digital twins to a smart digital reality, and from automation to autonomy,” he said. “Data is the lubrication of the world economy, and information is powerful.”
In Tuesday morning’s keynote presentations, Burkhard Boeckem, Chief Technology Officer for Hexagon AB, said, “The metaverse is interwoven with our real lives, and we need to apply artificial intelligence (AI) and utilize data integration to exact full value from that data.” He also provided examples of how the company is striving to “overcome limits of sight to gain insights.”
“The development of an accelerating green economy is going to be the biggest business opportunity of the 21st Century,” said Erik Josefsson, CEO of R-evolution, Hexagon, in his portion of the program, Welcome to the New Reality: Where the Metaverse meets business.
His discussion centered around the company’s environmental efforts and partnerships and how sustainability is going to continue to be a focus across industries.
Mattias Stenberg, CEO and President, Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division, Hexagon, provided an entertaining and informative discussion, The Elephants in the Room: Four Topics in the Sustainability Conversation Nobody Wants to Talk About. “We need a focus on how to de-carbonize without de-industrialization,” Stenberg said. “How can we pass along organizational knowledge, as well as instituting it across our existing assets?” He went on to discuss what he called a “generation of CO2”, as well as the efforts being made toward sustainability.
HxGN LIVE Global 2022 is a hybrid in-person and virtual event taking place from 20-23 June 20-23, 2022. Attendees will also engage with the latest technology driving the autonomous future forward. In addition, Hexagon will host a concurrent virtual experience combining live-streaming and on-demand video for anyone to attend remotely, allowing for much broader global customer participation.
