Every year, the European Commission carries out an opinion poll among European Union business managers. The object is to seek their views on their own companies' performance in the innovation stakes. Called the "Innobarometer," the latest data show that almost four out of five companies in the 15 member states of the pre-accession EU have introduced new or "renewed" products and services in the past two years, and 63% say that their innovation performance has improved in that time.
