Bentley YII 2019: Year in Infrastructure conference opens in Singapore
Bentley Systems Inc. – a leading global provider of software solutions to engineers, architects, geospatial professionals, constructors and owner-operators for the design, construction and operations of infrastructure, including industrial plants, public works, utilities and digital cities. – has kicked off its Year in Infrastructure 2019 Conference, “Advancing BIM through Digital Twins,” October 21-24 at the Marina Bay Sands hotel in Singapore.
The Year in Infrastructure Conference (YII 2019) is a global gathering of leading executives in the world of infrastructure design, construction and operations focused on best practices and technologies for going digital. The conference is globally recognized as a leading forum for addressing the current priorities and opportunities that impact the infrastructure industry. Attendees hear from industry thought leaders, engage in forums and discussions, and learn about technologies and best practices that will shape the future of infrastructure delivery and operations.
At the opening session, Greg Bentley, CEO of Bentley Systems said, “Bentley Systems’ major technical thrust is the advancement of digital twins across infrastructure domains. This opens up for owners their previously “dark” engineering technologies and data (ET), for federation with traditional information technology (IT) and newly connected operating technologies (OT). Conference features. YII 2019 is comprised of several valuable components. Digital Advancement Academies bring together Bentley experts to enhance knowledge of industry best practices on BIM advancement, construction, constructioneering, research, reality modeling and process industries. Industry forums encourage infrastructure professionals to interact with thought leaders and learn about best practices and advances in technology. Attendees have ample opportunities to interact with more than 1,500 industry leaders and like-minded professionals to connect, collaborate and share perspectives. Infrastructure Asset Performance and Project Delivery summits feature industry executives engaging in peer-to-peer discussions and strategies on going digital and emerging industry trends. Finally, through hands-on demonstrations and interactive presentations, a Technology Pavilion highlights the newest enhancements and capabilities, as well as industry best practices, from Bentley and its strategic partners.
Awards gala. YII 2019 concludes with the Year in Infrastructure 2019 Awards gala and ceremony, where the winners of this year’s competition will be announced.

These awards are an integral part of the Year in Infrastructure Conference; since 2004, the Awards program has recognized more than 3,400 of the world’s most outstanding infrastructure projects.
