SimSci’s 2016 Process Industries Business Excellence conference

SimSci’s 2016 “Process Industries Business Excellence” conference kicked off this morning at the classic Langham hotel in Pasadena, California. Attendees were welcomed by Greg Katnich, who gave an overview of their north American support team and offerings.

The first presentation by Richard Pelletier was about using “SimCentral” to model steam. The presentation demonstrated how data could be set up in a steady state model to conduct hydraulic and dynamic analyses, and how to analyze and present the results.

The final morning session by Victor Esquivel was about “Achieving Operational Excellence with Dynamic Studies of Refinery Plant Systems”. The key focus was on modeling process changes and upsets with “DYNSIM”, to quickly evaluate multiple control system strategies to get the process back under control.
