Tampnet brings mission-critical connectivity to hydrocarbon processing industries

  • Tampnet, the world’s leading provider of offshore digital connectivity,
announces its expansion into onshore energy, following key clients into their
midstream operations, including refineries, chemical production, terminals and industrial ports.

Tampnet is leveraging its offshore expertise and capabilities to expand into the onshore energy space, delivering high-performance private 5G networks and edge
computing to remote, complex and steel-rich environments, where traditional Wi-Fi
struggles and ultra-reliable, low-latency communication is mission-critical.

“The energy companies are accelerating digitalization across their entire value chain to reduce costs and increase safety. Our clients like what we do in the offshore space, so extending Tampnet’s proven offshore solutions onshore allows us to also support the digital transformation in their onshore mid-stream business,” said Tampnet CEO Elie Hanna. “We’re bringing the same mission-critical performance and reliability, now to refineries, storage hubs, port infrastructure and other facilities.”

Digitalization across the energy value chain. To lead this new business area, Valenti Roca is joining as Chief Commercial Officer, Onshore Energy. Roca brings extensive sector experience, most recently as CCO for Private Networks Europe at Boldyn Networks, and with a prior 18-year career at Cellnex Telecom, where he
held several senior commercial roles.

“Valenti combines deep telecom infrastructure insight with a customer-first approach to digital transformation in energy and industry. He will be instrumental as we follow our key clients into their midstream operations,” Hanna added.

The expansion supports Tampnet’s long-term strategy to enable digitalization across the entire energy value chain and to meet the growing demand for secure, high-performance connectivity in industrial settings.

Tampnet’s network spans over 5,400km of fibre optic cables and 600,000 km2 of 4G/5G coverage, connecting more than 450 offshore installations and 40 data centres in 12 European and American cities and central hubs.
