Russian government is in favor of extending its partial gasoline export ban, which is in force until the end of August, to September and October, Interfax news agency reported on Monday citing Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
Russia had originally introduced a ban on gas exports in March 2024 to address a sharp rise in wholesale fuel prices and the risk of a shortage on the domestic market.
The government partially lifted the ban in November for most major producers, but has continued to extend it for other exporters such as independent traders and re-sellers.
