Chimbusco delivers largest marine biofuel bunker stem in Hong Kong

Marine fuel supplier Chimbusco Pan Nation said on Friday that it has delivered its largest marine biofuel stem in Hong Kong to date, also marking the biggest volume recorded in a single delivery at Chinese ports.

Recent marine biofuel stem sizes range from 300 tonnes (t)–3,000 t, though stems can be larger depending on specific requirements, according to bunker market sources.

Chimbusco supplied 5,500 t of B24 marine biofuel to the vessel Xin Los Angeles in a single delivery this week, the company said in an online statement.

The company said it also supplied more than 44,000 tonnes of biofuels for bunkering in Hong Kong last year, capturing more than 96% of the market share.

Marine biofuel sales climbed at key bunker hubs in Singapore and Rotterdam last year, as shipping companies explore use of lower-carbon fuels to reduce emissions.
