Shard Capital proposes $7-B petrochemical complex in Egypt

Egypt's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced that Shard Capital has proposed constructing a $7-B petrochemical complex in Egypt's New Alamein Industrial Zone. This initiative aligns with ECHEM's national strategy to bolster petrochemical production, aimed at reducing imports and expanding exports.

Minister Karim Badawi emphasized the ministry's support for projects enhancing Egypt's oil and gas resources, underscoring efforts to attract investments in these sectors. The ministry plans to optimize infrastructure to facilitate these projects, including the proposed petrochemical complex, alongside ongoing initiatives like the soda ash and silicon production facilities in the area.
