EIA: U.S. crude stocks, gasoline and distillate inventories fall
U.S. crude stocks, gasoline and distillate inventories fell in the week ending August 16, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday.
Crude inventories fell by 4.6 MMbbl to 426 MMbbl in the week ended August 16, the EIA said, compared with analysts' expectations in a Reuters poll for a 2.7-MMbbl draw.
Crude stocks at the Cushing, Oklahoma, delivery hub fell by 560,000 bbl in the week ended August 16, the EIA said.
Refinery crude runs rose by 222,000 bpd in the week ended August 16, the EIA said.
Refinery utilization rates rose by 0.8% in the week.
U.S. gasoline stocks fell by 1.6 MMbbl in the week to 220.6 MMbbl, the EIA said, compared with analysts' expectations in a Reuters poll for a 900,00-bbl draw.
Distillate stockpiles, which include diesel and heating oil, fell by 3.3 MMbbl in the week to 122.8 MMbbl, vs. expectations for a 200,000-bbl drop, EIA data showed.
Net U.S. crude imports rose last week by 78,000 bpd, the EIA said.
