Taiwan's FPCC to restart Mailiao port operations on July 26

Taiwan oil major Formosa Petrochemical Corp. aims to restart operations at its port at the Mailiao refinery on July 26, after shutting down ahead of Typhoon Gaemi's arrival, a company spokesperson said on Wednesday.

The port was shut on July 23.

"Up to now, there is no impact on refinery operations," Lin said, without elaborating on whether there would be subsequent shipping delays.

Gaemi, expected to be the strongest storm to hit Taiwan in eight years, is set to make landfall on the northeast coast late on Wednesday evening, weather authorities said.

The loading and discharge of crude and products cargoes will likely be subject to between three and five days of delays, two sources familiar with the matter said.

FPCC is a major exporter of refined products in Asia and operates three crude units with a total processing capacity of 540,000 bbl at Mailiao, which is in Yunlin county in western Taiwan.
