Keppel, Sojitz to collaborate on Asia-Pacific decarbonization and clean energy business opportunities

Keppel Ltd., through its Infrastructure Division, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tokyo, Japan-based investment and general trading company Sojitz Corp. with the intention to jointly pursue decarbonization and clean energy business opportunities in Asia-Pacific.

Under the MoU, Keppel and Sojitz will jointly identify and develop a pipeline of projects in bioenergy and resource recovery, as well as invest in and operate energy solutions that support energy transition in Asia-Pacific. The collaboration also seeks to harness Keppel's Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) know-how and proprietary solutions for businesses in markets where Sojitz operates in.

The MoU was signed by Cindy Lim, CEO of Keppel’s Infrastructure Division, and Takefumi Nishikawa, Chief Operating Officer, Energy Solution & Healthcare Division, Sojitz, and witnessed by Loh Chin Hua, CEO of Keppel, and Kosuke Uemura, Representative Director, President & Chief Operating Officer, Sojitz, at a ceremony held at Sojitz’s headquarters in Tokyo.

Cindy Lim, CEO of Keppel’s Infrastructure Division, said, “Keppel is pleased to collaborate with Sojitz in a mutually beneficial partnership, leveraging Keppel’s expertise in energy and environmental technologies and Sojitz’s international presence. This collaboration showcases how like-minded businesses can expand reach and drive growth together.”

The abovementioned development is not expected to have any material impact on the net tangible asset per share or earnings per share of Keppel for the current financial year.
