EIA: U.S. crude stocks, gasoline and distillate inventories rise
U.S. crude stocks, gasoline and distillate inventories rose last week, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday.
Crude inventories rose by 1.2 MMbbl to 455.9 MMbbl in the week ended May 31, the EIA said, compared with analysts' expectations in a Reuters poll for a 2.3-MMbbl draw. Crude stocks at the Cushing, Oklahoma, delivery hub rose by 854,000 bbl, the EIA said.
Refinery crude runs rose by 61,000 bpd, the EIA said. Refinery utilization rates rose by 1.1% in the week.
U.S. gasoline stocks rose by 2.1 MMbbl in the week to 230.9 MMbbl, the EIA said, compared with analysts' expectations in a Reuters poll for a 2-MMbbl build.
Distillate stockpiles, which include diesel and heating oil, rose by 3.2 MMbbl in the week to 122.5 MMbbl, versus expectations for a 2.5-MMbbl, the EIA data showed.
Net U.S. crude imports rose last week by 13,000 bpd, the EIA said.
