Russia's Tuapse oil refinery resumes operations after attack
Rosneft's Black Sea oil refinery in Tuapse resumed operations on Sunday after a drone attack, an industry source familiar with the plant's work told Reuters.
Sources have said that drones damaged a unit that produces liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Ukraine does not officially confirm or deny attacks on oil refineries inside Russia, but it says the facilities are legitimate targets helping the Russian war effort at a time when Russian strikes are pounding Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
The Tuapse plant, which has processing capacity of 240,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil was also struck by a drone in January and resumed work around the end of April, industry sources said.
The plant produces naphtha, fuel oil, vacuum gasoil and high-sulfur diesel, supplying fuel mainly to Turkey, China, Malaysia and Singapore.
In 2023 the plant processed 9.322 million metric tons of crude oil, producing 3.306 MMt of gasoil and 3.123 MMt of fuel oil.
