HP Awards Best Gas Processing/ LNG Technology Winner

Best Gas Processing Technology award finalists:

FLUOR, Deep Dewpointing Process (DDP)

Fluor’s cryo-gas technology application is designed for rich, unconventional gas applications (e.g., shale gas) with ethane liquid contents of 6 gpm–12 gpm and feed pressure ranging from 500 psig–900 psig. The process can achieve 95% propane recovery in full ethane rejection mode and can recover 60% ethane in ethane recovery mode. This innovative technology is critical for midstream organizations that need flexibility, performance and capital efficiency in processing rich natural gas.

SAUDI ARAMCO, Enhanced C2 recovery process by utilizing demethanizer bottom reflux

Engineers at Saudi Aramco added cooling duty to the demethanizer, at the Hawiyah NGL plant, by inserting a side reflux to the column’s bottom section. This process change decreased the demethanizer bottom temperature by 10°F, which has resulted in additional revenue of $1.67 MM/yr.

SCHLUMBERGER, CYNARA PN-1

CYNARA acid gas removal membrane systems efficiently and selectively permeate acid gases to separate them from produced gas streams that contain 5 mol%–95 mol% acid gas. Unlike conventional approaches to acid gas removal that use single-core membranes in a two-stage membrane system, the CYNARA PN-1 dual-zoned acid gas removal membrane system provides the same separation in a single membrane element to reduce both installation and operating costs.

SIEMENS, SIDRIVE IQ

This innovative technology allows producers the ability to monitor, analyze and optimize drive systems digitally. This makes the operational and condition data on a company’s drive components transparent, along with helping personnel identify maintenance requirements and optimization potential, leading to increased productivity, efficiency and profitability.

2019 WINNER: Deep Dewpointing Process, Fluor
