Petrochemicals Europe wins European award
Petrochemicals Europe won the European Association Award 2019 in the category of Best Association Website. The independent and very diverse jury highlighted, excellent visualization such as easy access to info, infographics, steam cracker & refinery maps and the Young Ambassadors campaign. Also highlighted were the "broad variety of contents for all tastes," ranging from easy-to-understand information about highly complex and technical matters for people who are not at all connected to the (petro-)chemical industry, to highly technical parts for experts.
Since its launch in April 2018, the revamped website has proved very successful in reaching out to key target audiences (industry members, value-chain partners, EU regulators, journalists, academics) and achieving its three main objectives:
1) Raising awareness of the benefits of petrochemicals in everyday life (petrochemicals in action)
2) Highlighting the crucial role that they play in Europe’s current and future economy and an enabler of sustainable solutions (we build the future, infographics)
3) Provide useful and relevant information to all stakeholders such as industry members, journalists, academics, etc. The number of visitors has increased by 37% since the website revamp. Sharing the website’s enhanced content on Twitter has also enabled us to rise by 20 times the views’ number on our tweets reaching regularly over 500,000 impressions per month and in peak times even close to 1 million.
