Fire breaks out at refinery owned by Russian oil giant

MOSCOW, - A fire broke out at Rosneft's oil refinery in Russia's Samara region, a state news agency reported, citing a law enforcement source.

“Provisionally, the fire happened on the territory of the Kuibyshev Refinery, by now it has been put out,” said the source, according to TASS.

The refinery has a capacity of 7.9 million tons of oil a year, Rosneft says on its website. Its output had not been affected, the source told TASS, adding the fire broke out in back-up equipment of the secondary processes facility.
