US refinery utilization rates have increased in some areas following the peak of maintenance season. Several FCC and refinery outages have opened import opportunities from Europe. This strengthened Europe’s gas crack spread with strong domestic demand and export opportunities. Asian utilization rates continue to rise as Chinese teapots take advantage of new rules allowing them to process imported crude.
