HP Global Project Data - June 2016
As the downstream oil and gas industry reaches the halfway point of 2016, new project announcements are slightly down year-over-year. According to Hydrocarbon Processing’s Construction Boxscore Database, there were nearly 90 new project announcements from January 2015 to June 2015. From January 2016 to the present day, new project announcements have fallen to just under 80. This represents a decrease of 12.5% for the first half of 2016 compared to the same time frame in 2015. As shown below, the Asia-Pacific region has dominated new project market share with over half of new project announcements this year. The US is a distant second at 26%.
