Spraying Systems to host Houston technology forum for chemical processors

Attendees of Spraying Systems Co.’s “Spray Technology Forum” will learn about ways to optimize many of the processes in their plants, including gas cooling, water wash, chemical injection, and tank mixing and blending.

The complimentary event is scheduled to be held on April 20, 2016, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Spray Technology Center of Spraying Systems Co., located in Katy, Texas.

The forum will feature new technology demonstrations, including computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling simulations in 3D, which give attendees a new perspective on what really happens with fluid flow inside their pipes, ducts and vessels.

The high-flow injector demonstration will show flow control based on process temperature feedback, while illustrating turndown capability for changing operating conditions and new atomization technology for steam. The performance of hydraulic nozzle sprays will be compared based on type and operating conditions, and a handful of other informative demonstrations will round out this portion of the agenda.

Chuck Munro of Spraying Systems Co. will offer insights and techniques for the successful application of sprays, including ways to optimize spray performance, how to avoid costly design mistakes, when to use CFD modeling to determine injector placement and more.

Experts will be on hand to answer technical questions and discuss the challenges petrochemical and chemical processors may be facing in their operations.

Attendees have the opportunity to earn PDH/CEP credits, and barbecue and beverages will be served during the event.
