Total to supply US LNG to Indonesia’s Pertamina

By Nick Kostov

PARIS -- French energy company Total strengthened its presence in Asia by signing agreements with state-owned Indonesian company Pertamina for the sale and purchase of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Under the terms of the agreements, which start in 2020 and last 15 years, Total will purchase from 2020 around 400,000 tpy of Pertamina's LNG from Corpus Christi LNG, currently under construction in the US.

For its part, Total will supply Pertamina with 400,000 tpy of LNG, rising to 1 MMtpy over the agreed period.

"These agreements allow the group to further expand its longstanding cooperation with Pertamina and to enhance both companies' LNG portfolios," said Laurent Vivier, president of gas at Total.

Total last week signed an agreement with Iran, allowing the company to buy hundreds of thousands of barrels of Iranian crude oil per day.
