CB&I wins engineering contract to expand Afipsky oil refinery in Russia

CB&I has confirmed an agreement with NefteGazIndustriya LLC, through project developer MAVEG GmbH, to provide engineering and procurement services for the Afipsky Oil Refinery in Krasnodar, Russia. 

CB&I's project scope includes early detail engineering and procurement services for multiple new process units, including a 2.5-MMtpy hydrocracker unit licensed by Chevron Lummus Global, a joint venture between CB&I and Chevron, as well as hydrogen and sulfur units licensed by CB&I and other associated units. 

"This award follows on the successful delivery of the FEED of the Afipsky Oil refinery," said Patrick K. Mullen, president of CB&I's engineering, construction and maintenance operating group. 

"The contract is a reflection of NefteGazIndustriya's confidence in our ability to offer our customers a more complete supply chain solution, showcasing our expertise in technology as well as engineering, procurement and construction management," he added.

CB&I previously announced that it is providing technology and front end engineering design (FEED) services on the project.
