Alfa Laval to supply compact heat exchangers for US refinery upgrader

Alfa Laval, a leading global provider of specialized products and engineering solutions based on its key technologies of heat transfer, separation and fluid handling, has secured an order to supply compact heat exchangers to a US refinery.
The Alfa Laval compact heat exchangers will be used for heat recovery in the process where heavy crude oil is upgraded to ultra-low sulfur transportation fuels.
Reusing heat in the oil refining process will maximize the energy efficiency, the company said.
“Oil refining is a very energy-intensive process,” said Lars Renström, president and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group.
“By using our efficient compact heat exchangers, the producer can save energy and thereby improve their bottom line," he added.
