Foster Wheeler's global engineering and construction business has received its fifth consecutive NOSCAR award in recognition of its occupational risk management system and occupational health and safety performance, the company announced Thursday.
The prestigious award was presented at a special ceremony hosted by NOSA in the Drakensberg, South Africa.
The NOSCAR award recognizes organizations that continuously commit to providing safe and healthy work environments for employees and is the highest rating in the NOSA system.
NOSA strives to enhance the values of the occupational risk management industry while ensuring that the industry as a whole continues to grow and develop," said Justin Hobday, managing director of NOSA.
"We are honored and privileged to host an annual event of this caliber and to recognize Foster Wheeler on their remarkable dedication to maintaining the highest level of excellence in occupational risk management performance," he added.
Foster Wheeler's total score for the 2013 audit, which forms the basis of its fifth consecutive NOSCAR award, was 96.08%, even better than its 2012 award-winning score.
We are proud to receive our fifth consecutive NOSCAR, said Roberto Penno, CEO of the Foster Wheeler business. This award, as well as the other safety accolades we have received, reflects the very strong safety focus in our home offices and projects worldwide and our world-class safety performance.
