Cyanco completes expansion of Nevada sodium cyanide solution plant

Cyanco announced Tuesday the successful ramp up of the latest capacity expansion of its sodium cyanide solution plant in Winnemucca, Nevada, bringing capacity from 93,000 to 110,000 tpy.

The latest Winnemucca expansion is another step in Cyanco's growth strategy in the North American market, according to company officials. In a series of steps, the Winnemucca plant capacity has been expanded from 39,000 metric tons in 2008 to the current 110,000 tons.

Cyanco focuses on the North American market from the two plants in the Winnemucca facility. Within North America, the company has the capability of supplying US customers directly from Winnemucca. In addition, the company operates regionally-focused distribution terminals in Quebec, Canada, and Hermosillo, Mexico.

Cyanco's legacy markets in Nevada continue to grow, and the company says it is uniquely positioned with same day delivery and vendor managed inventory.  Local terminals with on-site inventory in high growth gold mining areas such as Quebec and Sonora allow Cyanco to serve regional demand and provide continuity of supply.

The combination of Cyanco's Winnemucca facility and its new Houston solids facility in Texas allows the company to provide unparalleled service to sodium cyanide customers throughout North America, according to company officials.

Meanwhile, Cyanco's position in both solid and solution sodium cyanide, with four discrete production lines across two manufacturing locations, offers customers assurance in supply chain integrity.
