Polimeri Europa awards engineering deal to Jacobs for UK rubber expansion
Jacobs Engineering Group was awarded a contract by Polimeri Europa UK (Versalis group) to provide engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services for a major expansion at the company's plant in Grangemouth, Scotland.
Officials did not disclose the contract value, but noted that the project is expected to be executed out of Jacobs office in Glasgow, Scotland.
Under the terms of the deal, Jacobs is providing EPCM services in collaboration with Polimeri Europa UK to support the installation of a new finishing line and the associated works.
The expansion is expected to significantly increase Polimeri Europa UKs rubber production capacity at Grangemouth.
We have been working closely with Polimeri Europa UK over the last two years to develop the front end design for their new finishing line," said Jacobs vice president Bob Irvin.
"We are delighted to continue to support Polimeri Europa UK, and we anticipate the knowledge we have already acquired on the project to be extremely valuable as we move forward with the next phase.
