The plant would produce polymer-grade propylene (PGP) and chemical-grade propylene (CGP) through the dehydrogenation process. Capacity information was not disclosed.
Construction of the PDH plant would begin in January 2014, with startup scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2015.
The plant will use propane feedstock and distribute the resulting propylene by pipeline. As part of the process, ethane, ethylene and methane will also be produced, according to the filing.
If approved, the plant will be built on the grounds of Ascend Performance Materials chemical manufacturing complex at Chocolate Bayou.
