CB&I to build Esso Australia gas conditioning plant

CB&I on Thursday was awarded a $550 million contract by Esso Australia Resources for work at its Australia site in Longford, Victoria.

CB&I’s work scope includes the engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction of the Longford gas conditioning plant, which is designed to handle 400 million cubic feet/day of gas from the Kipper, Tuna and Turrum fields in Bass Strait.

“We are very pleased to be awarded this contract which builds on our decades of experience working with ExxonMobil on a wide range of energy infrastructure projects around the world, including our current work with Esso Highlands in Papua New Guinea,” said Philip K. Asherman, CEO of CB&I.

“This award leverages our global EPC capabilities as well as our more than 75 years of experience in Australia," he added.
