Intergraph extends engineering software alliance with Siemens Energy
Netherlands-based engineering software firm Intergraph has extended its existing global alliance agreement with Siemens Energy for multiple years, the companies said on Tuesday.
The agreement was first signed in 2005 to standardize Intergraphs SmartPlant enterprise suite of software and engineering integration technology.
In recent years, Siemens successfully delivered more than 30 projects worldwide using SmartPlant technology, with applications ranging from information and workflow management to engineering design tools, according to the company.
Siemens primarily uses Intergraphs integrated software tools within the energy sector, it said, with benefits including centralized data storage, automation, enhanced data management and data integrity, and reduced project hours.
I strongly believe that the decision of Siemens Energy to replace Intergraphs leading traditional software solution PDS with our future-oriented solution [of] SmartPlant is the right approach to increase both quality and productivity, said Günter Mauβ, vice president of Intergraph Process, Power & Marine.
Intergraph says SmartPlants integrated suite of solutions can improve engineering efficiency by up to 30%. Further details are available at Intergraphs website by clicking here.
