Statoil shuts Norway LNG plant after water leak

Norwegian oil and gas giant Statoil on Thursday said production has been halted temporarily at its Snohvit-Hammerfest liquefied natural gas, or LNG, plant due to a water leak.
Statoil said production at the plant - the world's most northern and Europe's first export facility for LNG - was halted after water leaked into the gas dryers, with water ingression causing ice formation in the cooling circuit.
The company said that while efforts are being made to get the plant back on line quickly, it's still uncertain how long the stoppage will last.
Statoil's share of the natural gas field Snohvit in the Barents Sea area of the Norwegian Sea is about 50,000 bpd of oil equivalent.
