Honeywell opens automation training hub in Dubai
Honeywell on Monday announced the opening of a new facility in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to strengthen customer support in the Middle East for its process solutions and scanning and mobility businesses.
The new full-service office, which opened this month in Dubai, will further extend Honeywells global presence and provide closer proximity to current customers and prospects in the Middle East, the company said.
Honeywell Scanning & Mobility (HSM) is a global leader in automated data collection solutions, including vehicle mount, hand-held and wearable computers, and bar code scanners, the company said.
With increasing demand for its solutions for the retail, healthcare, warehousing, manufacturing, ports, and transportation and logistics markets, HSM is increasing its sales and support presence for existing end users and partners to drive sales growth in the Middle East and Africa.
In recent years, HSM has experienced high growth in various Middle Eastern and African (MEA) countries, said Darius Adamczyk, president of Honeywell Scanning & Mobility.
To better align with the needs of our customers, we decided to make the MEA area an independent region with dedicated resources. Having a new facility in Dubai will help to support this effort, he added.
Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS) provides industrial automation technology and services and has grown significantly in the Middle East since setting up its regional headquarters in Abu Dhabi in the 1970s, it said.
The business says it is now expanding its resources and presence in the region to further support future growth.
The new facility will provide HPS customers with additional operational capabilities and a new state-of-the-art customer training facility.
Over the past three years we have seen a tremendous amount of growth in the Middle East and it has become necessary to further expand our physical presence here to keep up the momentum, said Norm Gilsdorf, president of Honeywell Process Solutions.
This new office is an important commitment we are making to the UAE and the Middle East, Gilsdorf continued.
It will help our growth strategy, which focuses on building our customer partnerships, and providing them with the world-class support they require, with face-to-face contact, necessary to develop close working relationships.
HPS customers will have access to a wider range of technical resources and expertise through a technical assistance center as well as an automation college and remote support center.
These three facilities will provide customers with access to Honeywells collective knowledge, developed from over 40 years experience in the automation industry, the company said.
