Technip forms technology partnership with French atomic energy group

France-based engineering major Technip has signed a strategic partnership agreement for innovation and technology development with the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA).

Based at the heart of a very strong scientific, industrial and academic environment, located in Paris and Grenoble (France), the technological research division at CEA (DRT) gives access to over 4,500 researchers and is focused on the development of new technologies in the fields of energy, transport, health, information and communication.

The CEA-DRT, the largest French research and technology organization (RTO), is on the cutting edge of the technological research and has a very active role in transferring knowledge towards industry, according to the company.

Technip aims to harness and develop this knowledge to increase the competitiveness of its core businesses and expand and differentiate its business footprint through new technologies.

The agreement is valid for an initial period of three years.

The agreement was signed in Grenoble by Thierry Pilenko, CEO of Technip, and Jean Therme, director of technological research at CEA.

"This agreement demonstrates the commitment of Technip to remaining at the leading edge of technology and innovation," said Mr. Pilenko.

“Building the future is a core value of Technip and differentiation through technology has always been and will always be a primary vehicle to support that core value," he continued.

“CEA is one of the world's leaders in development and commercialization of core technologies and is dedicated to industrialization of those technologies through companies such as Technip.”
