Foster Wheeler wins EPC deal for Sasol expansion in South Africa

Foster Wheeler has been awarded a contract by Sasol to provide engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) services for the Sasolburg utilities expansion project at Sasolburg, South Africa.

The Foster Wheeler contract value for this project was not disclosed and was included in the company’s second-quarter 2011 bookings.

The project is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2012.

This project involves the expansion of the capacity of the utility systems at the Sasol complex at Sasolburg to support a program of expansion projects.

This EPCm award follows Foster Wheeler’s successful completion of the front-end engineering design (FEED) phase for this project.

“This award demonstrates Sasol’s continued confidence in Foster Wheeler’s performance and the strength of our continued close working relationship with Sasol, supporting its business objectives in South Africa and internationally,” said Umberto della Sala, interim CEO of Foster Wheeler.

“This is another example of the successful conversion of a FEED win into an EPCm award."
