Technip awarded engineering contract from Solvay to study China greenfield chem plant

Solvay awarded Technip with an engineering services contract to study construction of a greenfield chemical plant in Taixing, Jiangsu Province, China.
The plant will be based on Solvays patented Epicerol technology and will produce 100 kilo-tons per year of epichlorohydrin from glycerine, the companies said.
Technips operating center in Shanghai, China will execute the contract, which is scheduled to be completed in the second semester of 2013.
This award marks a new step in the longstanding collaboration between Technip and Solvay, which is a global leader in specialty polymers, vinyls, essential and special chemicals, officials said.
