BASF picks Fluor as engineering partner for Asia, Europe chemicals projects
Germany-based BASF has chosen Fluor as an engineering partner for chemicals and petrochemicals projects across Asia and Europe, the companies announced on Thursday.
BASF has awarded Fluor umbrella services agreements in these regions for undisclosed contract values. The partnering agreements will cover capital investment projects with separate service orders throughout Asia and Europe.
Services provided on projects covered by the agreement will include front-end engineering and design (FEED), project management services and/or detailed engineering, procurement and construction management services.
BASF is a long-standing client of Fluor for which we have performed projects across the globe for decades, most notably and most recently with three large-scale projects in China, said Peter Oosterveer, president for Fluors energy and chemicals group.
Fluors Haarlem office in the Netherlands will lead efforts for the European partnership agreement and will interface with BASFs global headquarters.
Multiple other Fluor operations centers will also be utilized as necessary for project execution, the company said.
