Delta Rigging strikes deal to expand Bakken shale presence in North Dakota
Delta Rigging & Tools (DR&T), a leading US provider of lifting and rigging products, announced on Monday that it acquired North Dakota-based Grizzly Wire Rope & Chain.
The acquisition gives DR&T a well-established location in the center of the Bakken oil shale region, the company said, providing strategic growth opportunities to better serve the rapidly expanding oil and gas development activities across a multi-state area.
We had been looking for a way to expand into the Bakken shale area for some time, said Kevin Rodgers, CEO of Delta Rigging & Tools. After a careful review of the Grizzly Wire Rope & Chain operations, it became clear that taking a well-established and growing operation like Grizzly and making it a part of Delta Rigging & Tools was the best strategic move for us, and the best way to serve our existing and new customers working in the Bakken.
The management team at Grizzly has done a great job building their business with a customer focus that is right in line with ours - consistently delivering safety, service, quality, and value, he continued.
So the company fits very well into our strategic vision, our view of customer service, and our focus on growth. We believe Grizzlys existing customer base will continue to benefit from market leading products, service and support with Grizzly now a key part of Deltas operations.
Grizzly Wire Rope & Chain first opened in 2007 to serve the Williston Basin area. Grizzly provides wire rope, chain, hardware, cordage, web slings and associated services to customers working primarily in the oil and gas industry, but also in transportation, agriculture and other areas.
Over the next few months, Grizzly Wire Rope & Chain will officially begin trading as Delta Rigging & Tools, officials said.
All of Grizzly Wire Rope & Chains employees are expected to join Delta Rigging & Tools. The Grizzly Wire Rope & Chain operations will be part of DR&Ts Rocky Mountain Region, headquartered in Grand Junction, Colorado.
