ExxonMobil US operations win top 2010 safety award from Gas Processors Association

The US operations of ExxonMobil have been awarded with the top 2010 company safety award from the Gas Processors Association (GPA), the company said.

The efforts of about 500 employees working over 1 million work hours at ExxonMobil’s gas processing facilities led to first place honors for outstanding midstream safety performance.

“ExxonMobil is committed to safety leadership,” said ExxonMobil US producer manager Kok-Yew See. “This award recognizes the outstanding performance of our employees in putting safety first and our shared vision that nobody gets hurt.”

This marks the fourth time in six years that ExxonMobil’s US operations have earned the company safety award from GPA, the organizations said.

“Operating safely, whether in an office setting or in the field, is critical to the success of our companies and our industry,” said GPA president Alan Armstrong.

“GPA takes great pride in the safety accomplishments of our member companies, and I would like everyone to recognize and congratulate those companies that we’re honoring,” he added.
