ONEOK Partners honored by US EPA
ONEOK Partners has been named the "Natural Gas STAR Program's Gathering and Processing Partner of the Year" by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its significant efforts to reduce greenhouse gases through voluntary implementation of methane emission reduction technologies and practices.
The award was presented at the 2010 Annual Natural Gas STAR Implementation Workshop held this month in New Orleans, Louisiana.
"This recognition is a tribute to the hard work of our employees and is a reflection of our commitment to operating in a safe and environmentally responsible manner," says John. W. Gibson, ONEOK Partners chairman, president and chief executive officer. "We continue to look for new and better ways to improve our environmental and safety performance to protect our employees and the communities in which we operate."
The Natural Gas STAR Program is a voluntary EPA program that encourages oil and natural gas companies to adopt proven, cost-effective technologies and practices that improve efficiency and reduce methane gas emissions. The program also serves as a forum between participating companies and the federal government to share new and improved methods for reducing methane gas emissions.
